- Photographic Memories: Early Uses of Photography at Williams College Within a few years of the photography’s invention in 1839, Edward Lasell, Professor of Chemistry at Williams College, saw its potential to contribute to the unique memory culture around the college experience. Professor Lasell took daguerreotype portraits of the members of the class of 1845 “to be left at the college as class memorial.” This exhibition is the first to display these daguerreotypes as well as an album produced by the class of 1845 to redistribute the images 40 years later.On view in the Special Collections Instruction Gallery.

- Secret Histories of Medicine- Ever wondered how tuberculosis shaped modern medicine, or who the first paramedics were? The practice and science of medicine has a long and varied history interwoven with imperialism, politics, and cultural taboos. In this display, explore books from the Schow stacks on how social undercurrents and systems of power around the world have shaped and continue to shape the development of medicine and health care.

The Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA) houses over 13,000 works that span the history of art. The museum’s principal mission is to encourage multidisciplinary teaching through encounters with art objects that traverse time periods and cultures.
- Senior Studio Art Show: With Warmth, The exhibition features the work of 22 artists in the Williams College Senior Studio Seminar and celebrates the culmination of each artist’s senior project. This annual event is part of an ongoing collaboration between WCMA and the Williams College Art Department. Admission is free. www.wcma.org
